Mission and Philosphy
Founded in 1989, The Gailer School offers a rigorous and innovative college preparatory program to students in grades 7-12. The Gailer School is ideally situated in the vibrant college community of Middlebury, Vermont. Gailer's dynamic curriculum is an interdisciplinary course of studies influenced by and named after Leonardo da Vinci, 15th century artist-scientist-inventor. Our mission is to inspire students to love learning and become insightful world citizens. This mission comes to life through inquiry-based classroom instruction and place-based learning.
